Preschool – 8th grade Music Teacher

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School in Mound, MN is searching for a student-centered, energetic, and faith-filled teacher responsible for helping students in Preschool - 8th grade achieve to the best of their abilities in music.  This teacher should be able to develop a professional, age-appropriate rapport with students and the school community and challenge them in the performing arts. 

Part-Time position Mondays and Wednesdays for the remaining 25/26 school year. Stating asap

 Regular Classroom Activities (Including, but not limited to:)

• To establish and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental age and interest of the students.
• Demonstrate effective, appropriate student-management skills.

*Instructional Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the instruction of the Music curriculum.
• Work with the choir teacher to prepare Christmas concerts and other spring performances. 
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
• Assess students' accomplishments on a regular basis and provide progress reports as needed, utilizing a variety of assessment tools.
• Be responsible for keeping accurate grade books. 

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor's degree minimum in Music and/or Music Education 

Preferred qualifications:
-Classroom music teaching experience (elementary students) 

-interest in vocal and instrumental music

-understanding of MN state music standards

-Responsive Classroom Training
