Description
We are looking for a middle school math teacher for 2025-2026 school year.
Salary Range: $37,000-$45,000/year
Benefits: As a full-time employee you are eligible for health and dental coverage, 403(b) plan, HSA, and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms.
Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for teaching all required content areas to students in the grade level assigned, by planning and conducting an education program to develop students’ intellectual and spiritual growth through developmentally appropriate instruction. Additionally, the classroom teacher helps students grow in their enjoyment and appreciation of learning within an environment promoting truth, beauty, and goodness of our Classical Catholic school.
General Responsibilities:
*Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church of the Archdiocese, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is required that this employee be an active, participating Roman Catholic.
Representative Responsibilities:
- *Teach required subject matter and curriculum to all students in your class roster
- *Prepare curriculum and resources and present to the principal for approval
- *Prepare and administer parent teacher conferences and/or student teacher conferences at the appointed times
- *Assess students charged in your care and document in student reporting system
- *Collaborate with staff on ways to improve student performance and behavior
- *Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school program
- *Account for instructional materials assigned to you
- *Be present with children at all times when responsible for their welfare
- *Maintain a classroom environment that is safe and enjoyable for children
- *Attend faculty meetings and in-service days as requested by the headmaster
- *Attend Archdiocesan and professional development workshops as requested by headmaster and/or pastor
- *Establish and enforce classroom rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining classroom discipline
- *Follow policies of Faculty and Parent Handbook as adopted at the start of each school year
- *Speak effectively before groups of students, parents and co-workers
- *Be well organized and detail oriented
- *Communicate in a positive, effective manner verbally and in written and electronic communication
- *Be self-motivated and self-managed requiring little supervision to do the daily activities of this position and disciplined in the performance of the duties, in communication and in attitude
- *Assist in making our school an exceptional example of Christian virtue and Catholic tradition in relationships and work ethics.
Qualifications
Qualifications
B.A. degree or higher in education or another degree approved by principal
Demonstrated computer skills in e-mailing, calendaring, data entry, and word-processing
Demonstrated proficiency in appropriate software, such as student management systems, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency in office equipment such as phones, copiers, etc.
Demonstrated spelling and legible writing skills
Demonstrated teaching and formation skills
Demonstrated excellent communication skills
Demonstrated personal lifestyle with Catholic values
Demonstrated supervisory skills
Successfully complete standard Archdiocesan Background check.
Successfully complete VIRTUS training.
