Middle School Math Teacher

Notre Dame Academy, a preschool – 8th grade regional Catholic school located in Minnetonka, is currently looking for a licensed Middle School Math teacher to join our collaborative team. The teacher in this position will provide an experienced and dynamic learning environment focused on excellence in academics and partner with parents, staff, and other volunteers to create a loving community that reflect the values of our Catholic faith.

Responsibilities

• Teach all assigned subjects in accordance with the school’s mission, principles, and curriculum.
• Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the mission and purpose of the school.
• Participate in faculty meetings, the middle school team meetings, and professional development.
• Write objective-centered lesson plans in accordance with MN Math Standards.
• Adhere to the Employee Handbook.
• Exhibit competence in instructional methods and knowledge of subject matter.
• Demonstrate good classroom management and a collegial atmosphere.
• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and honesty.
• Demonstrate the ability to support the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each student.
• Partner with our parents and other staff members to ensure the success of each student.
• Honor and support school initiatives, administrative decisions, the vision of our Archdiocese, and the Catholic Church.
• Fulfill total commitments of the educational program and other activities during the school year including concerts, graduation, and other programs deemed necessary by the principal.
• Support students as an Advisor and Middle School House leader.

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a BA or BS degree and a current MN Teaching License
• Middle School Licensure with experience teaching Middle School Math preferred
• Demonstrate evidence of strong and effective classroom management techniques, specifically with middle school students.
• Ability to adapt to new programs/processes.
• Desire to work within a team and ability to maintain a positive atmosphere with colleagues.
• Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with school, students, staff, and parents.
• Experience with technology in the classroom, including interactive projector, Google Suite, MacBooks, Chromebooks, and software such as student management systems, etc.
• Complete Archdiocese background checks and complete Virtus training
