Description

The Liturgy Ministry Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with clergy, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to plan and execute parish liturgies. Recruits, trains, and directs liturgical ministers to provide guidance on Sundays and other special liturgies. This position may include various weekend hours, but it not required to attend every Mass as established lead ministers perform many responsibilities. Foster an approachable and welcoming environment where all feel comfortable and encouraged in their own faith journey.

It is required that this employee be an active, participating Roman Catholic.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Must be detailed oriented and organized
  • Must be present for major liturgical feast days

 

Liturgy and Worship:

  • Prepare and print materials for Masses, Priests binder, readings, pulpit announcements, Prayers of the Faithful, Prayer Intentions, lectionary page markings, and worship aids
  • Manage School Mass on Wednesdays 8am; collaborate with religion teacher for servers, lectors, sacristans
  • Prepare scripts for special Mass celebrations or major liturgical feast days
  • Oversee and manage Liturgical Ministry volunteers, sacristans, team leaders, head ushers, altar servers, and lectors
    • Schedule and communicate via Ministry Scheduler
    • Eucharistic Minister training; yearly for commissioning
    • Ability to recruit volunteers for liturgy ministries
  • Communicate regularly to liturgical ministers via Flocknote
  • Updates and maintain parish liturgical calendar
  • Attend weekly liturgy meeting with Priests
  • Review accuracy of information posted on the website and other communication sources concerning Liturgy
  • Manage and order liturgical supplies
  • Updates ministry handbooks, as needed
  • Manage Worship Commission by scheduling quarterly meetings

 

Sacramental:

  • First Reconciliation and First Eucharist; Works in coordination with Director of Evangelization and Faith Formation
  • Marriage: manage process including the Fully Engaged program, mentor couples, wedding coordinators, and scheduling
  • Baptism; manage the process; request documentation
  • Funerals: In collaboration with Pastoral Care Director and Music Director, prepares and prints funeral worship aids

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sacristan responsibilities
  • 3 +years’ experience in a church setting, preferred
  • Experience working with Ministry Scheduler, preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with Flocknote, preferred
  • An understanding of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal and Catholic liturgies, devotions, and traditions, or ability to learn
