Description

The Learning Specialist will work with students in grades K-6 to support them in their reading, mathematics and various subject content areas in small groups and push-in time. Students that are needing remediation and/or enrichment often work with the Learning Specialist. The Learning Specialist works with students of all abilities.

This role requires someone who is confident in teaching phonemic and phonetic patterns (Orton-Gillignman or Believe and Read training is preferred), and has the ability/desire to work with the district in communications about Special Education. The Learning Specialist helps in various capacities around the school and is seen as an additional resource teacher to support the diverse needs of learners.

We are seeking someone who is excited to support learners primarily in reading and math in small and whole group. A valid MN Teaching License is preferred. Please inquire with questions.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Valid and current Minnesota teaching license in the level or area of employment is preferred. Successful completion of background check. Must be able to use the Mission Statement and Philosophy of Good Shepherd School as a guide in educational commitment. Able to take direction from the principal and effectively implement new programs, processes and procedures as directed.
