Description

Position Overview

St. Jude of the Lake is seeking a full-time, long-term substitute music teacher for the remainder of the school year. This position is ideal for an educator who loves music, beauty, and working with a wide range of grade levels. If helping children develop confidence in their voices, understand the foundations of music, and experience the satisfaction of performing together excites you, this role may be a great fit.

In this position, you will guide students in foundational skills such as rhythm, pitch, movement, and participation, while also helping middle school students deepen their musical understanding and skill development. The overall curriculum, repertoire, and program direction are established.

A major focus for this role will be preparing K–5 students for the spring concert on Grandparents Day in late April. The music has been selected and materials are organized. Your role will be to ensure students are prepared, confident, and performance-ready.

This long-term substitute role has the potential to be extended or developed into a full-time position for the right candidate based on overall fit and program needs.

About St. Jude of the Lake

St. Jude of the Lake Catholic School is a joy-filled Catholic school where every child is known, loved, and challenged. Our faculty culture is collaborative, energetic, and rooted in our belief that Catholic education forms the whole person. With just-right class sizes, supportive families, and a clear academic vision, teachers at St. Jude have the freedom, tools, and backing to do their best work. We combine strong academics with genuine community and a shared mission—preparing our students for this life and the next.

What We Offer

Our teachers love serving at St. Jude’s. Here are a few reasons why:

  • An established program – Curriculum, repertoire, and concert plans are already in place, allowing you to focus on teaching and student engagement rather than building from scratch.
  • Just-right class sizes – More time for real practice and building the relationships that make teaching fruitful.
  • A joyful faculty culture – Work with colleagues who laugh together, support one another, and genuinely enjoy their work.
  • Supportive families – Engaged parents who partner with you and value your role in their children’s formation.
  • Stability and structure – A clearly defined long-term substitute role with strong administrative support.
