Join Saint Thomas Ice Arena as a part-time Ice Resurfacer (Zamboni driver). The Ice Resurfacer is responsible for the physical operation, maintenance and cleaning of the ice arena and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Perform resurfacing of ice at scheduled times.
• Responsible for maintaining condition of the ice.
• Execute equipment and building maintenance.
• Perform and/or monitor housekeeping to maintain the Arena’s sanitation and appearance.
• Follow all opening and/or closing procedures to ensure the safety and security of the Arena.
• Coordinate, monitor and maintain records of the activities of various groups using the Arena.
• Maintain a safe and secure setting for students, staff and guests.
• Responsible for coverage of assigned schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Successfully completed background check
• Availability for scheduled and on-call evenings and weekends

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• One year or more experience working in an ice arena.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of requirements of maintaining an ice arena in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
• Experience with equipment, tools, materials and supplies used for cleaning and maintenance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to perform all essential position functions under working conditions and physical demands as described
• Interact effectively with people in a positive manner.
• Multitask and perform multiple duties without loss of efficiency or accuracy.
• Complete tasks without direct supervision and the ability to exercise independent judgement and make decisions.

• Frequently may be required to safely lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
• Capable of transporting equipment, moving goal frames and various equipment.
• Operate ice maintenance equipment including, but not limited to motorized ice resurfacer and powered edger.
