Job Description

Successfully develop student-athletes in an athletic program committed to academic and athletic excellence. Lead the delivery of a positive educational-based athletic experience.

Skill Teaching

• Understand and be able to teach current best-practices for high school athletics
• Create a learning environment that inspires and stretches all athletes to improve
• Promote a focused and fun atmosphere that inspires athletes to improve

In-Season Oversight and Responsibility

• Plan, organize and administrate all facets of the Alpine ski program
• Oversee necessary video, scouting, and statistics
• Complete necessary program details with athletic department
• Manage home meets
• Ability to accurately evaluate critical success factors for high school alpine athletes including technical/tactical, physical, psychological, equipment needs, athlete management and beyond
• Provide periodic feedback and evaluations
• Support host event and races

Professional Qualifications

• Preferred -Education degree
• Required - Minimum has passed MN Head Coaches Course
• Required - previous Alpine Ski coaching experience
• Required - Program leadership qualifications
• Required - Knowledge of educational-based athletics and best practices
• Required - Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Required - Will work cooperatively with the Alpine Ski staff to provide training opportunities that include instruction, management, and teaching of all student-athletes
• Required - Ability to communicate with athletes and parents in an effective and positive manner
• Required - Will participate as a positive and communicative team member in the development and support of excellence within the athletic department
• Required - Strong support of school’s Catholic mission and focus

Personal Qualifications

• Passion for high school students and ability to communicate effectively with them
• Passion for this sport and high school athletics
• To be successful, you should be empathetic, patient, and understand that swimmers have varying abilities
