Description

The Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne is seeking a funeral coordinator to work as a collaborative team member and support the ministry of the parish. This individual will work as a key member of the funeral ministry team to assist families/individuals in the planning of a Catholic funeral liturgy. This position will also act as the liaison between the parish and the funeral home, while coordinating all aspects of the funeral liturgy.

Representative Duties:

  • To assist families/individuals in the planning of a Catholic funeral liturgy.
  • To act as a liaison between the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne, the funeral home/cremation service, and the family of the deceased.
  • To schedule funeral liturgies within the constraints of clergy and church facility availability.
  • To coordinate most aspects of the funeral liturgy (exception of music).
  • To provide correct documentation to the parish office.
  • To maintain funeral planning and resource information on the parish website.

Building on the tradition of the Shakopee Catholic Community, the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne exists to passionately lead people to Jesus Christ and sacramental life in the Catholic Church.  The campus includes three (3) church facilities and the school campus for Shakopee Area Catholic School (SACS) and 3 cemeteries.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Catholic funeral liturgies/Masses.
  • Computer literacy and efficiency are required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the team.
  • Practicing Catholic.
