Do you have a passion for our incredible Catholic faith? Are you always looking for creative ways to share our faith with the youth of our Church and their families? Are you hoping to join a team of like-minded coworkers who are committed to the work of ministry? The Church of St. Vincent de Paul is seeking an organized and energetic individual to coordinate Faith Formation programming for our 6th – 10th graders.  Consider joining our team in which you will be responsible for preparing our youth for Confirmation and assisting with our vibrant Youth Ministry evenings and events that continue to provide enriching opportunities for them to grow in their faith.

Highlights of the job include:

  • Overseeing the faith formation curriculum for 6-10 grade students
  • Recruiting and training volunteer catechists who meet on Sunday evenings with 6-8 grade
  • Recruiting and training group leaders to meet in their homes with small groups and prepare the 9th & 10th grade students for Confirmation
  • Retreats for 6th – 8th grade during Faith Formation Nights
  • Coordinating Confirmation logistics including a 9th - 10th grade retreat
  • Assisting the Youth Minister with programs and events
  • Participating in retreats with the students acting as a chaperone and co-leader

Qualifications

  • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community who has knowledge of and lives in a manner consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church
  • Must be committed to the Church’s mission of evangelization through practical means of ministry and continually pursue knowledge of the Catholic Faith and Catholic Social Teaching
  • Must have a collaborative approach to ministry with solid organizational, planning and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering teen appropriate talks and programs
  • Successfully complete a background check and maintain all safe environment training
  • Schedule will require the following availability:
    • On average 3 Sundays per month from October through April.  All holiday Sundays are off.
    • Most Wednesday evenings throughout the year
    • One Friday evening per month during the school year
    • Two weekend in-house retreats
    • One or two overnight events up to 5 days in duration
