Description

POSITION

Saint Thomas Academy seeks an Events, Facility & Athletics Monitor. This role monitors, supervises and provides organizational support for all programs on campus, while maintaining safe and orderly conditions in the building at all times. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, reporting to the Facilities Director. The qualified candidate will be willing to embrace the mission of Saint Thomas Academy.

Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:30 – 10:00 p.m. with some flexibility depending on campus events.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilities Department point of contact during working hours. Must be responsive, professional and willing to support the Academy in all phases of teamwork.
  • Provide entry and access to school buildings during events, rentals and athletic practices and competitions.
  • Oversee facility rentals including responding to inquiries, scheduling, monitoring and invoicing.
  • Responsible for securing the facility including closing and locking windows, locking doors, ensuring security lights are operating, activating the security system, closing all athletic facilities.
  • Interact with building occupants to ensure doors are open or closed, equipment needed is available, and all needs for the facility are met.
  • Performs routine servicing of assigned lavatories and locker rooms. Duties include keeping paper and soap dispensers filled and functioning and emptying waste receptacles.
  • Report, document and recommend corrective action for all needed repairs to the facility.
  • Support athletic department with set up before and tear down after games. Close and lock athletics facilities.
  • Provide a responsible and reliable adult presence.
  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or apparent.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

COMPENSATION

$22 - $26 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Successfully completed background check

MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to get along with Academy employees and be courteous and helpful with students and the general public.
  • Consistent communication with the Athletics and Activities Department and the Facilities Department.
  • Knowledge of requirements of maintaining school buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Observe and report safety hazards and need for maintenance and repair
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing using electronic communications with site administrators and supervisor regarding custodial needs, schedules and concerns.
  • Capable and willing to learn Academy daily use platforms.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work under constantly changing conditions a must.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Standing and/or walking up to 80% of the time:
  • Lifting requirements are up to 20 pounds
    • Extended reaches of 10-15 pounds overhead
    • Lifting of 40-80 pounds with mechanical assistance
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, chemical, electrical and mechanical hazards.
  • Work in a military environment and exposure to unexpected, loud noises during military drills and performances.
