Description
This full-time teaching position for 2025-26 and beyond will be part of a collaborative team committed to achieving the goals of education through faith-filled learning experiences. The teacher for this position offers a warm and dynamic learning environment focused on excellence in academics, and partners with parents, staff, and other volunteers to create a loving community that reflects the values of our Catholic faith.
Immaculate Conception School is a preschool-grade 8 school serving students in Columbia Heights and the surrounding communities. We are celebrating our 87th year with a focus on Faith, Academics and Service. We have a tradition of high academic excellence and a commitment to share our school’s mission by reaching out in service to the community.
Responsibilities:
- Teach all assigned subjects in accordance with the school's mission, principles, and curriculum.
- Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the mission and purpose of the Church.
- Participate in faculty meetings, learning teams, and professional development.
- Support the Catholic School Mission and Philosophy.
- Adhere to the employee handbook.
- Exhibit competence in instructional methods and knowledge of subject matter.
- Demonstrate good classroom management and a collegial atmosphere.
- Integrate technology into lessons and communicate effectively with the school community.
- Work with students who have IEPs or need accommodations to reach their full potential
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and honesty.
- Plan, organize, and meet deadlines.
- Be committed to continually developing skills and improving as a teacher
- Partner with our parents and other staff members to ensure the success of each student
- Honor and support school initiatives, administrative decisions, the vision of our archdiocese, and the Catholic Church
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree and appropriate educational experience.
- Good people and learning skills.
- Ability to work in a goal-oriented school and adapt to new programs/processes.
- Desire to work within a team and ability to maintain a positive atmosphere with colleagues.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with school, students, staff, and parents.
- Experience with technology in the classroom, including interactive projector, Google Suite, Macbook, Chromebooks, etc.
