Create a Christian community of caring couples

• • Offer a comprehensive marriage preparation program for the engaged.
  • Recruit, train, provide in-services for lay couples in the preparation program.
  • Offer marriage enrichment series annually for Prepare couples.
  • Provide pastoral counseling for couples seeking help with their marriage.

Provide Pastoral Care ministry to the needs of the parish and community

• • Recruit, train and support lay ministers in the Befriender Ministry and EM to homebound
  • Provide a coalition of support groups to address the brokenness within the community,
    g. Divorce & Separated, Widow/ Widowers, Alcoholism, annulments, etc.
  • Provide relevant materials and articles on pastoral care.

Provide pastoral ministry to the senior adults in the parish and extended care facilities within the parish.

• • Present faith sharing opportunities for them to grow in spirituality.
  • Offer outreach to the various residential care facilities in parish boundaries.
  • Offer pastoral counseling to various issues of aging and dying.
  • Be a good referral resource for aging services.

Provide pastoral counseling and therapeutic resources to the parish community.

• • Provide marriage, family and individual counseling and spiritual direction to the parish community,
  • Be available to parishioners who call to provide pastoral counseling
  • Provide bereavement ministry and funeral planning to those who are in need.
  • Be available to the pastor and staff for consultation in these areas.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Pastoral Care preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Care from an accredited college required.
• Certification in marriage preparation (e.g. Prepare/Enrich.)
• Possess computer word processing skills and proficiency in appropriate software.
• Be able to successfully complete an Archdiocesan background check.
• Be able to complete background checks through defined process on all volunteers.
