Description
St. Croix Catholic School in Stillwater, MN is seeking applicants for a Director of Advancement (1.0). The Director of Advancement role should be permeated by a Christ-like orientation which is seen daily in what the Director of Advancement says and does in the larger school community.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an individual who can organize, engage and inspire individuals, companies, and foundations to support the school’s mission through donations.
Job Goal:
Establish a sustainable portfolio of donors that help provide financial resources for SCCS advancement, scholarships, staff wages and educational resources within a safe and fostering environment for students and faculty.
Reports to: Principal of St. Croix Catholic School
Work Commitment: Full-time Exempt
Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday; Schedule may vary based on needs; occasional evening or weekend time may be necessary.

Compensation:
- $65,000-$80,000
- Performance bonus based on Key Performance Metrics
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
DONOR RELATIONSHIPS AND SOLICITATION (70%)
- Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, alumni, parents, parishioners, community leaders and corporate partners to secure financial support.
- Secure significant philanthropic support for the priorities of SCCS by managing a dynamic portfolio of donors.
- Coordinate with leadership of St Mary’s, St Michael’s and St Charles’ churches to avoid overlap in timing/scope with parish fundraisers and/or leverage collaboration at the discretion of the principal.
- Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to meet annual fundraising goals, focusing on major gifts, planned giving, annual campaigns, corporate sponsorships, and grant opportunities.
- Serve as a key liaison to the SCCS Board of Directors for all advancement matters and participate in designated Board and Committee meetings.
- Work closely with the Principal, Pastor, and Board of Directors to identify priorities and opportunities for gifts.
- Appropriately steward donations, ensuring gifts are utilized in line with donors’ intentions.
- Evaluate grant opportunities and cultivate those that are best aligned with the school’s programs and mission. Manage the application process.
- Ownership of database management. This includes accurate input of data and notes, ongoing database cleansing, creating actionable reports, and effective donor segmentation.
- Stays in regular contact with Catholic Community Foundation, which manages the school’s Endowment Funds.
- Attend educational and Archdiocesan workshops and conferences as needed for continual professional development.

- Oversee events from planning to execution

- Coordinate with volunteers and staff
- Manage event budgets

- Ability to professionally and faithfully represent SCCS’s mission, vision, and values to a broad constituency.

- Time management skills - Discerning the appropriate amount of time to devote to various tasks.
- Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, customer relationship management system / donor database, and willingness to learn new technology skills.
- Self-motivated with drive for success.
- Must be relationship-focused, detail-oriented, with an emphasis on quality and timely follow-up.
- Ability to network and develop community partnerships.
Qualifications
- A commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church and St. Croix Catholic School.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully solicit major gifts, or experience in related field with emphasis on relationship development and solicitation of individuals or organizations.
- Experience in executing a strategic vision, leading a detailed implementation plan, actively coordinating with other staff, prioritizing work, and ensuring timelines are met.
- Ability to effectively present information to donors, board members, volunteers, organizational leaders, associates, and public groups.
- Experience working with volunteers.
