Chesterton Academy of the St. Croix Valley, a joyful, classical high school taught in the Catholic tradition seeks a talented and dynamic choir teacher to join our team for the 2024-25 academic year.

We are seeking a versatile teacher whose love of music is matched by their love of teaching and forming high school students in the Catholic faith. Teachers must have a passion for a Catholic liberal arts education and must be able to teach and lead and direct a choir of 50 or more.

Insistent on the importance of beauty in the formation of our students, Chesterton Academy of the Saint Croix Valley holds the fine arts as a core of our curriculum with every student studying music, drama, and the visual arts.  Each student at Chesterton Academy takes four years of music each year of which includes choir rehearsals and music history.

A bachelor’s degree in music or the liberal arts field is preferred.

Two to five years of previous teaching experience is preferred. Passion for Catholic, classical education is necessary.

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.

In addition to their teaching and administrative responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body and participate in spiritual retreats or other school activities.

This is a part-time role, covering about 6 classes per week. Depending on skill, a full-time role may be an option.

Qualifications
