Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to coordinate and implement the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program at St. Pius X. This role involves overseeing the catechetical aspects of the program, ensuring alignment with Church teaching, and providing support to catechists, assistants, and volunteers. Responsibilities include planning retreat days, managing program communications, supervising sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist, and maintaining a calendar of events. The role also includes being the Lead Catechist for children in Level I and Level II Atriums and assisting with program growth. The ideal candidate will be CGS certified through Level II and foster a positive environment for learning, resolve conflicts effectively, and work to enhance the CGS program for children ages 3-12. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential for success in this position. Salary is variable depending on level of CGS certification.

• College degree preferred with academic study in Catholic theology or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of Catechesis of The Good Shepherd Level I trained required
• Two years of experience in CGS preferred
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with parishioners, Pastor, and other staff members.
• Ability to clearly speak, read, and write English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Successfully complete an Archdiocesan background check, Virtus, and Code of Conduct.
