Bilingual Leader of Liturgy & Music (Part-Time, 16-20 Hours/Week)
This role is central to worship, evangelization, and community life—bringing the liturgy to life through prayerful, engaging music.
The Bilingual Leader of Liturgy & Music provides leadership for the parish's worship life by planning and leading music for Masses, Holy Days, and special liturgies. This position serves as the primary accompanist, recruits and develops volunteers, directs choir and music ministries, and collaborates with clergy, staff, and parishioners to create engaging, faith-filled worship experiences. The role also oversees music ministry administration, coordinates liturgical volunteers, and supports families preparing for funerals, weddings, and quinceañeras. Additional compensation is provided for funerals, weddings, and quinceañeras beyond regular weekly responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church
- Bachelor’s degree in Music (Master’s preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Catholic liturgy and sacred music
- Proficiency in piano and organ; experience directing choirs
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Availability for evenings and weekends
- Working knowledge of Spanish language and ability to lead both English and Spanish choirs preferred
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Works well in bilingual settings
- Works well with a variety of different cultures
- Some knowledge of sound systems
