Description

Purpose of Position: Assist the School Nutrition Program by performing duties related to the preparation and serving of school meals, and coordinate after-school programs for students.

Work Environment: The After-School Room Supervisor will work in the school kitchen and cafeteria during meal times, and in other areas of the school as needed for after-school programs. The position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleaning up after meals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Monitor student behavior in the cafeteria and promote a positive dining atmosphere.
  • Coordinate after-school programs, including scheduling, supervision, and communication with parents.
  • Assist with other school nutrition and student supervision duties as assigned.
  • Supervise the safety of children on the playground during after-school hours.
  • Serve after-school snacks and maintain records as required.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (student contact days)

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in school nutrition, childcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Pass a background check as required by the school and state.
  • English and Spanish are preferred languages for oral communication.
  • Social security number or legal authorization to work in the United States is required

 Physical Requirements:

  •  Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40+ hours per week, including attendance at required school events (graduation, holiday programs, and other activities as determined by administration)
  •  Sustained mobility to move throughout classroom and school environments for extended periods
  •  Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks required in an educational setting
  • Full sensory capabilities including ability to speak clearly, see, hear, and respond effectively to students, staff, and administrators at all times
  • Ability to fulfill all commitments of the educational program throughout the school year
