5-8th Grade Band Instructor

St. Peter Catholic School is searching for a part-time Band Instructor for grades 5-8.  Our Band Instructor works closely with our Choir and Strings Instructors to teach students and prepare them for performances. 

Duties include:

• Leading and managing our student band
• Assessing students according to school policies
• Attending parent teacher conferences as requested by the principal
• Working with the Choir and Strings Teachers to plan and manage rehearsals and performances,
• Managing Band equipment, music selections, and music libraries.

The Band Instructor must:

• Have a BS or Certification in Band or Music Instruction,
• Be knowledgeable of the overall operation of a student Band program,
• Have at least three years of experience teaching Band or another musical program,
• Have excellent verbal, written, and email skills,
• Be competent in Google Suite and/or Classroom
• Be compassionate, kind, supportive, calm, and joy-filled in all elementary school situations,
• Be a team player who enjoys working in a busy and joy-filled Catholic School.
