Description
Mary Queen of Peace school is seeking a short term substitute teacher for a 2nd grade maternity leave. This position will start January 26, 2026 until May 29, 2026. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified and experienced with the energy to fuel our mission of an inclusive community of faith, warmth and friendliness, guided by the core values of respect, responsibility and compassion. Our candidate will:

- Partner with our parents and other staff members to ensure the success of each student
- Honor and support school initiatives, administrative decisions, the vision of our archdiocese, and the Catholic Church

- Contribute to our safe, loving, faith-filled environment where each child is known and treated as an image of God
- Create developmentally appropriate educational activities, lessons, assessments, and hands-on experiences.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration through effective communication.
- Demonstrate evidence of positive classroom management techniques with assistance from the classroom teacher’s aide.
- Have experience and ability to use technology in the classroom: Mac laptop, interactive whiteboard, and the basic Google tools
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all school matters
- Complete and maintain a required Archdiocesan background check and VIRTUS training requirements
- Be able to work 40+ hours per week, which may include some evenings and weekends for conferences, family activities, and open houses.
- Four year college degree, preferably in education.
