Description

The Catholic Church of St. Peter is seeking a Director of Parish Operations to provide leadership for the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the parish. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to apply professional management, financial, and organizational skills in support of a mission-driven faith community.

Working closely with the Pastor, parish staff, and school leadership, the Director of Parish Operations supports the parish’s mission through effective financial stewardship, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Pastor to support parish operations, finances, human resources, facilities, and strategic planning.
  • Provide oversight of budgeting, accounting and financial operations, facilities and plant management, and human resources for the parish and school.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and promote transparency and accountability in financial management.
  • Supervise the parish accountant, Maintenance Supervisor, and Cemetery Manager, and work closely with an outsourced financial and accounting firm.
  • Oversee relationships with vendors, contractors, financial institutions, insurers, and external partners.
  • Provide calm, steady leadership in addressing occasional urgent or sensitive matters, with limited after-hours availability as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Catholic Church, Archdiocesan, federal, and state policies and regulations.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000

Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings leadership experience in operations, finance, administration, or human resources from a nonprofit, educational, faith-based, or business environment. They are collaborative, organized, and service-oriented, with strong judgment, communication skills, and discretion. A respect for and commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church is essential; prior parish experience is welcome but not required.  Practicing Catholic preferred.

This role is well-suited for a leader who values teamwork, clear communication, and contributing their professional skills in service of a faith-based organization and its community.
