Bilingual Life Coach (Spanish)

Pregnancy Choices, founded in 2006, is a life-affirming organization dedicated to helping under-served women and their families in the south metro area of the Twin Cities. The Center provides pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, STD/STI testing, and accurate information about pregnancy, abortion and alternatives in a safe, non-judgmental environment. The Center positively impacts its clients through relationship, professional life coaching and incentive educational programs.

Position Description: The purpose of this position is to provide coaching to English and Spanish-speaking clients that will ensure life-affirming support, transfer of life skills that result in self-advocacy, confidence, and self-efficiency. An additional intent is to connect clients with appropriate resources and provide learning opportunities that will deepen the client’s knowledge base in such areas as parenting, finances, pregnancy health and other related topics.

Mission: We partner with women and men experiencing an unexpected pregnancy or relational poverty, and through life coaching uncover new possibilities and sustainable change for families.

Key Responsibilities:

CLIENT CARE (60%)

• Provide clients with one-on-one coaching to support and uncover options and barriers that limits their ability to make positive life changes
• Provide pregnancy tests, options, and advocacy
• Provide STD/STI testing
• Facilitate the Baby and Me Program as outlined
• Manage incoming calls and texts on Callrail when scheduled
• Create/follow a system that ensures client follow-up
• Work in collaboration with all staff and volunteers to ensure a cooperative team
• Translate coaching tools and other needed resources for Spanish-speaking clients
• Interpret during ultrasound appointments when needed
• Organization of and participation in a Latina's Mom’s Group

ADMIN, TRACKING AND REPORTING (15%)

• Collect evidenced based results that demonstrate the effectiveness of the life coaching services you provide to clients via the pre, mid, and post surveys
• Conduct data entry and provide client file maintenance
• Update the lead tracker per standard practice
• Familiarize self with WayCool reporting to collect data when asked/needed
• Attend weekly staff meetings or watch the replay

CONTINUED EDUCATION (15%)

• Maintain a working knowledge of the coaching process and competencies to ensure they are upheld
• Participate in ongoing training and mentoring sessions including but not limited to coach connection, coaching circle and competency training with team and Learning Journeys
• Attend monthly meetings with Team Lead Life Coach to set and work towards goals
• Coordinate quarterly reviews with Team Lead Life Coach to gain feedback on coaching
• Take one additional Learning Journeys course of your choosing annually

COMMUNITY OUTREACH (10%)

• Serve as liaison for community service providers and resources that will support client goals and needs in tandem the Community Resource Coordinator
• Facilitate healthy relationship education via Real Essentials curriculum
• On occasion, be available for various community events
• Research/advocate for Latino-specific needs

Training:

• Learning Journeys Life Coach Practitioner Certification, 150+ training hours - funded by Pregnancy Choices
• Elevate Life 2-day training or virtual training through Elevate Life platform
• Orientation to Pregnancy Choices and on-the-job training

Compensation: $25/hr with annual raises. We are looking for someone dedicated to 24 hours a week at this time.

Essential Qualifications:

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish
  
• An understanding of Latino-specific, unique needs
• Committed to be an advocate of Pregnancy Choices’ beliefs and values
• Ability to prioritize and manage a case workload and have strong attention to detail, while meeting a variety of client needs
• Passionate about continuous education & knowledgeable about pregnancy issues
• Ability to work with a diverse population (including internal and external constituents) and work well under pressure with poise and confidence
• Excellent skills in connecting with people at a heart level
• Strong team collaborative skill
