Description
The Facilities Manager will oversee the operation and maintenance of all church and school facilities and grounds, providing a safe and welcoming environment for staff, parishioners, students and visitors.
Hours: Monday - Friday up to 20 hours, flexible schedule
General Responsibilities
Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals, or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is required that this employee be an active, participating Roman Catholic.
Representative Responsibilities
To be present and ready to work as needed to meet responsibilities. Includes recognizing when situations require more effort, seeking approval to put in more time if needed, satisfying responsibilities in a timely manner, providing an example of punctuality and attendance, and generally ensuring all is ready and taken care of.
Core Functions
- Supervise and work with maintenance staff to ensure that facilities and grounds are maintained and kept in good repair.
- Ensure that all routine maintenance (including but not limited to painting, cleaning, miscellaneous repair, etc.), inspections and record keeping is identified and preformed.
- Obtain bids, maintain contracts, and oversee work of outside vendors, such as parking lot plowing, pest control, fire system, alarm system, and all repair companies.

- Pass Archdiocesan background check and complete VIRTUS.
- 2+ years of related facilities management experience.
- General mechanical skills needed to maintain plumbing, heating, electrical systems
- Experience working with vendors and outside contractors
- Training and/or experience in supervision of maintenance staff
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written

- Be able to take direction from supervisor, be self-directed and work without supervision.
Physical Demands
- Work all required hours.
- Move through the buildings easily and quickly, especially the use of stairs.
- Move furniture and equipment around occasionally.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds using proper lifting and carrying techniques.
- Operate equipment according to manufacturers’ directions.
