This individual will play a key role in fostering a vibrant Catholic culture of evangelization and discipleship, while managing a team of coordinators and volunteers across various programs.

The Director of Formation reports directly to the pastor and is responsible for the visioning, development, and implementation of catechetical and formational initiatives aligned with the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Live and witness to the Catholic faith through prayer, sacramental life, and service.

  • Establish and oversee a cohesive vision for faith formation across all age groups.

  • Lead, supervise, and support Formation Coordinators for preschool, children’s sacramental prep, middle/high school youth ministry, and Confirmation.

  • Design and present family discipleship programs for K–5 families.

  • Manage the OCIA process for adults, in collaboration with parish leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with all Safe Environment policies and diocesan guidelines.

  • Recruit, train, and support catechists, volunteers, and department staff.

  • Select and evaluate curriculum and resources for all formation efforts.

  • Coordinate registration, communication, and marketing for programs and events.

  • Plan and facilitate camps, retreats, and Catholic youth conferences (some overnight).

  • Serve as liaison and support for parish events such as Country Fest.

  • Oversee budget, policies, office operations, and the Formation Advisory Committee.

Qualifications

  • Practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church, with a passion for evangelization and discipleship.

  • Strong knowledge of Catholic theology and a desire for ongoing learning.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Experience working with both youth and adults in a parish or ministry setting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other digital tools.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and attend overnight events as needed.

  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.

Preferred but not required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or a related field—or equivalent experience in Catholic ministry.

This position offers a salary starting at $60,000, with potential for higher compensation based on qualifications.  A comprehensive benefits package is included, featuring medical and dental insurance, a 403(b)-retirement plan, paid time off, and a range of elective benefits selected by employee.
