Job Summary
The Development Director is responsible for leading and implementing the organization’s fundraising and development strategies to ensure long-term financial sustainability. This role involves identifying and securing funding opportunities, cultivating donor relationships, and overseeing grant writing and fundraising campaigns to ensure financial sustainability. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration with School Administration - Partner with the principal, school leadership, and parish leadership to align development efforts with the school's strategic goals and financial priorities.
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and annual giving campaigns.
- Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations to enhance donor engagement and retention including alumni. Update donor database with latest information and insights.
- Grant Management: Identify, write, and manage grant applications to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other sources.
- Event Planning: Oversee fundraising events, galas, and community engagement activities.
- Corporate Partnerships: Build relationships with corporate sponsors and identify opportunities for cause-related marketing and sponsorships.
- Board and Council Engagement: Work with the corporate board to develop and execute fundraising initiatives and provide reports on fundraising performance. Work with the Advisory Council development committee.
- Marketing & Communications: Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling donor communications, annual reports, and fundraising materials.
- Budget & Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the development budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals in collaboration with the Principal.
- Team Leadership: Lead by influence to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation with school staff and parent committee.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit management or relevant experience.
- Highly skilled in relationship management.
- Preferred proven success in securing major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
- Strong team and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor messaging.
- Experience planning and executing fundraising events.
- Ability to analyze fundraising data and trends to inform strategy.
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and a strong commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
