Who we are: Holy Family Academy is a classical Catholic school in St. Louis Park, MN dedicated to excellence in education and fidelity to the Magisterium.

Purpose of this position: The Humanities Teacher is responsible for ensuring that all students in grades 6-8 grow in their integrated understanding of history, geography, writing, philosophy, literature, and theology, with a primary focus on the discipline of history.

Role responsibilities: 

  • Teach middle school history classes and other humanities disciplines
  • Serve as a homeroom teacher
  • Attend staff meetings, conferences, and in-service days
  • Provide appropriate feedback to school administration, staff, faculty, and students
  • Assist with associated school duties such as recess or lunch monitoring, facilitating arrival or dismissal procedures, etc.
  • Maintain an orderly classroom
  • Follow all school handbook policies

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $38,000-$53,000/year commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: As a full-time employee you are eligible for health and dental coverage, 403(b) plan, HSA, and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Ability to teach joyfully and effectively to middle school students
  • Be a strong role model as a life-long learner and a disciple of Christ as a practicing Catholic.
  • 2+ years classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Familiarity with classical or liberal arts education strongly preferred
  • Pass essential background checks
