Job Description

Representative Responsibilities

1. Junior High Ministry (7th and 8th grade)
a. Faith and Virtue Formation - In cooperation with Peer Ministers and Adult Volunteers, offer opportunities for youth to encounter Christ through:
i. Large group meetings
ii. Prayer opportunities
1. Mass
2. Adoration
3. Confession
iii. Small group meetings (e.g. Discipleship groups)
iv. Retreats / Archdiocesan events
v. Extreme Faith camp
vi. Service opportunities
1. Monthly Awareness in Action Afternoons; students are given the opportunity to use their talents and energy to assist in the work of a service organization.
vii. Fellowship events

2. Senior High Ministry (9th - 12th grade)
a. Faith and Virtue Formation - In cooperation with Adult Volunteers, offer opportunities for youth to encounter Christ through:
i. Large group meetings
ii. Prayer opportunities
1. Mass
2. Adoration
3. Confession
iii. Small group meetings (e.g. Discipleship groups)
iv. Retreats / Conferences
v. Lifeline Masses
vi. Archdiocesan Youth Day
vii. Monthly service opportunities
viii. Fellowship events
ix. Special projects (Cancer Home Dinner, Haiti Christmas Box Drive, Medical kits, etc.)

3. Peer Ministry
a. Recruit, train, and provide on-going support for high school juniors and seniors who serve as members of the Peer Ministry Team.



4. Administration
a. Provides for specific on-going evaluation of programs.
b. Communicates regularly with youth and parents about ministry activities through social media, parish bulletins, flyers, direct mailings, e-mail, and the Annunciation website.
c. Responsible for the preparation and implementation of the AYM budget.
d. Maintains a database of youths in grades 7-12, alumni, adult volunteers, and young adults.
e. Coordinate fundraising efforts to support and supplement the parish subsidy to AYM and various youth ministry programs.

5. Leadership Development
a. Recruit, train, and provide on-going support for adult volunteers who serve in leadership and supervisory roles with Annunciation Youth as:
i. Small group leaders
ii. Service project supervisors
iii. Retreat leaders
iv. Trip leaders
v. Fellowship event leaders

6. Summer Mission Trip
a. Plan and lead annual summer mission trip
i. Work with Pastor to select location
ii. Recruit adult chaperones
iii. Oversee fundraising
iv. Administer registrations

7. Other Responsibilities
a. Attend a Sunday Mass at Annunciation
b. Attend all staff meetings as required
c. Maintain membership in professional organization and informal networking groups; participate in professional development opportunities
d. Other responsibilities identified as needed by the employee and approved and/or assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications

1. Has a strong personal relationship with Jesus
2. Possess a love for the Catholic faith and has a strong desire to share the faith
3. Is a faithful, practicing Catholic (if married, the marriage is recognized by the Church)
4. Will be faithful to the Magisterium of the Church in his or her teaching
5. A degree from a Catholic university in Theology or Catholic Studies preferred
6. Love for the Eucharist / Adoration
7. Zeal for the salvation of souls
8. Experience leading evangelistic retreats
9. Able to lead worship with guitar preferred
10. Work well with youth of all ages
11. Comfortable praying with others
12. Computer skills required
13. Possess valid driver’s license
14. Possess the education/training to delegate, supervise and empower others
15. Successfully complete all Archdiocesan Essential Three
