Part-Time Parish Office Assistant – St. Olaf, Minneapolis
Job DescriptionHospitality duties include managing building events from fielding inquires, booking, handling details, working with vendors, and delighting the client with on time and on budget event coordination. Some “day of event” management for larger events will be required. Also, coordinating hospitality schedules and volunteers.
Office duties include data entry, answering a busy office phone, assisting with the calendar, and general office work such as filing and word processing.
Work commitment: Part time 20- 25 hours/week
Job QualificationsEducation: Technical school or equivalent
Experience: 3-5 years in a parish preferred; 3-5 years in an office acceptable
Background Check: Successful completion of background check is required, along with Virtus training and signing the archdiocesan Code of Conduct.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher
• Knowledge of Facebook for Church postings
• Communication skills
• Flexibility – being able to change direction in your day easily
• People person – able to be warm and welcoming
• Team player – helping where needed
• Ability to multi-task is key in this position
Physical Demands: Able to lift 10 – 20 lbs.
Institution DescriptionSt Olaf is an Archdiocesan parish in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. We are known for great liturgy/music and for our hands-on outreach to the homeless and poor.
Community DescriptionSt Olaf attracts people who live downtown, work downtown, and are visiting Minneapolis. We also have parishioners from a number of Twin Cities zip codes. We have a large contingent of people from Africa and once a month we offer a Mass with African music and languages.
