Full-Time Accounting Manager – Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Faribault
Job DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for the accounting duties relating to all financial aspects of Divine Mercy Catholic Church and School, St. Lawrence Cemetery, Calvary Cemetery, Home and School, and the Council of Catholic Women. Also responsible for assisting the Lead Steward of Administration and Pastor with administrative duties to facilitate the effective operation of the parish and cemeteries.
1. Accounting (*). Responsible for all aspects of accounting for Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Divine Mercy Catholic School, Calvary Cemetery, St. Lawrence Cemetery, Home and School and the Council of Catholic Women.
A. Income and Cash Receipts.
B. Accounts Receivable. Responsible for all aspects of accounts receivable.
C. Bank Transfers. Responsible for creating weekly and monthly bank transfers between accounts. Responsible for timely and accurate recording of bank transfers.
D. Payroll/Employee Benefits.
E. Budgeting for the parish.
F. Accounting system to include maintaining the chart of accounts, general ledger, training, etc.
G. Finance Committee Meetings including preparing reports for and attending the meetings.

Job QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS – MINISTRY:
Minimum of four year accounting degree
Prior work experience in accounting of five years or greater preferred
Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft excel skills.
Willingness to work with and minister to diverse people and situations
Ability to collaborate
Effective communication skills to work with varying groups of people
Ability to make decisions and work without direct supervision
Ability to organize, supervise and foster Partners in Ministry
JOB QUALIFICATIONS – ADMINISTRATIVE:
Ability to operate and learn current computer system
Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Outlook
Prior experience in accounting software systems
Ability to create a welcoming and hospitable environment
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to work independently on routine and regular responsibilities to accomplish tasks within appropriate timelines.
Ability to keep calm in chaotic situations;
Ability work on a team, including encourage and support team;
Works well with others
Able to sit for long periods of time
Able to work computer keyboards and operate office equipment
Able to hear and respond to telephone calls
Able to do repetitive motions such as folding, labeling or stuffing envelopes
Ability to climb stairs
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Institution DescriptionDivine Mercy is a parish of approximately 2,500 families. The church was built in 2009 after merging three parishes into one. The current church sits just on the south end of town while the offices and school are located near downtown along with one of the old churches which is still used for school Mass during the week. Included in the parish is a pre-k – grade 5 elementary school with over 260 students. Our school and parish office sit accross the street from Bethlehem Acadamy, a Catholic middle/high school.
